You know those passions that God just instills in you?
Something that has made your beat faster for as long as you can remember?
Sometimes when I go to shows or hear someone playing guitar or watch someone do a play or watch someone act I remember the way it all use to consume my life.
I think there are few things that make me feel the way performing does.
I wish I would have gone as far as my dreams were reaching back then.
Do you remember those days?
Lead soprano, voice lessons, choir tours on cruises, shows and trips and plays and musicals and practice every spare moment we had. Music coming out of our mouths and water being the only drink allowed to pass through our lips. 6:30 AM practices and the accomplishment when the piece came out perfect. Standing ovations and awards and touching people through the songs and works.
There was seriously a point in my life where the only thing I could imagine myself doing was singing. Being on stage is like being home.
Its safety. Its security. Its adventure and ambition.
I don’t do it as much now.
But I think it has to be present in my life all the time.
The arts, and acting and music somehow have to always be present in my life.
Whether it is me doing the performing or me getting to support someone I love while they perform…
I think there are a few things that God puts in you and they just cant be compromised or taken away. Its too deep. And it means too much.
And He does that for a reason.
I need to start singing again.
